Add a footnote if this applies to your business
Did you know it is significantly cheaper to get an additional car key cut then to lose all your car keys? An additional key most of the work has been prepared so all that is left is to copy the original car key and program it to the car. When all keys are lost the auto locksmith has to open the car decode the lock then cut the key and program it to the vehicle. In the case of Volkswagen cars using the MQB system you also need the sync data for the car in order to program the keys which is very expensive to obtain from 3rd party sellers and in a lot of cases disassemble the instrument cluster or remove the BCM2 modules to program the keys adding more time and cost to the job. When simply adding additional Volkswagen Audi key the sync data is already available as it is stored in the working key which reduces the time and removing the third party costs from the cost of cutting and programming the additional key to the car. So it is worth spending the money on getting a spare key cut then the added costs of losing the only car key you have for the car. Also with Volkswagen when we do a copy key we save the sync data so if you did lose your keys we would be able to cut and program new keys with out the added cost of obtaining the sync data.
